Sampol Market is one of the central areas for commercialization and economy of the City of San Jose del Monte. Well, people from the said city and nearby towns go here to buy groceries, fresh and dry goods, house necessities and or get some services. With the vast choices from shops and increasing competition among the local merchants, one can definitely save a lot of pennies for other concerns.

They say all's fair
In love and war
But I won't need to fight it
We'll get it right and we'll be united
And I know that we can be so amazing
And being in your life is gonna change me
And now I can see every single possibility
And someday I know it'll all turn out
And I'll work to work it out
Promise you, kid, I'll give more than I get
Than I get, than I get, than I get
Oh, you know it'll all turn out
And you'll make me work so we can work to work it out
And I promise you kid to give so much more than I get
Yeah, I just haven’t met you yet
I just haven’t met you yet
Oh, promise you, kid
To give so much more than I get
I said love, love, love, love
Love, love, love, love
(I just haven’t met you yet)
Love, love, love, love
Love, love
I just haven’t met you yet

UP-PGH 1
Last Friday, I went to UP Manila to finally confirm myself in the list of qualified applicants for Class 2016. Ate Cherry handed me my most awaited letter so far along with instructions, record chart, student directory, PE permits and list of activities and schedules. Still astonished by the result, I read it right in front of her not noticing she’s actually telling me the next step to be done, haha.. Anyway, today, I went back to submit my confirmation slip and the pro forma letter of consent. I also inquired some other things.
After dealing with some matters in the Admission Office, I set off directly to PGH to inquire in their Health Service. Wow- one word I said to myself. I was once again filled with awe when I entered the PGH. I hurried down the hallway, asked for directions; all were busy; busy with their stuffs, matters, concerns, crying, and chitchats. There were orderlies and nurses moving in and out from various departments, gurneys assisted by staffs and everybody seemed to be in a hurry (probably because it’s already lunch time). It made me wonder then that my next goal should be to be an intern of this government hospital which I reckon would never cease to amaze me. Two guards and an orderly then finally the Health Service Unit! Few more minutes of waiting and then amiable staffs entertained my concerns for my immunization records and other requirements. Students, doctors and other personnel were also in queue inquiring with different concerns and records. I am not certain enough if files are already kept in computerized system but it seems like the HS staffs were still in the traditional folders, envelopes and boxes (heaven forbids). Time in hospitals is a luxury they won’t always have (and so the systems and operations should as much as possible be accurate and fast).

Haven't Met You Yet
I'm not surprised, not everything lasts
I've broken my heart so many times, I stopped keeping track
Talk myself in, I talk myself out
I get all worked up, then I let myself down
I tried so very hard not to lose it
I came up with a million excuses
I thought, I thought of every possibility
And I know someday that it'll all turn out
I've broken my heart so many times, I stopped keeping track
Talk myself in, I talk myself out
I get all worked up, then I let myself down
I tried so very hard not to lose it
I came up with a million excuses
I thought, I thought of every possibility
And I know someday that it'll all turn out
You'll make me work, so we can work to work it out
And I promise you, kid, that I give so much more than I get
I just haven’t met you yet
I might have to wait, I'll never give up
I guess it's half timing, and the other half's luck
Wherever you are, whenever it's right
You'll come out of nowhere and into my life
And I know that we can be so amazing
And, baby, your love is gonna change me
And now I can see every possibility
And somehow I know that it'll all turn out
And I promise you, kid, that I give so much more than I get
I just haven’t met you yet
I might have to wait, I'll never give up
I guess it's half timing, and the other half's luck
Wherever you are, whenever it's right

UP Class 2016
Today is Ash Wednesday so my mother and I went to the church early this morning (see my blog at MIST: Because I wonder Why and How). Our family will host the seven-day rosary with Virgin Mary in our place. The figure will be coming from my Aunt who has been a host for the visitation. I was at home waiting for my mom, my Aunt and the church people to bring Mama Mary and say welcoming prayers and rituals when a batchmate of mine sent me a message to inform me about the result in UP Medicine. I was actually in great awe. I didn’t know what to do so I immediately went to our altar and gave thanks and praise to Black Nazarene, our family patron. I surfed the net and found out that my name ‘s indeed in the list. Woooohoooo... Thank you Lord! Yeah! I can’t believe how I made it. With tough competition, I wasn’t expecting myself to get into the final list but I was deadly hoping that the universe would conspire. You know what I mean? Now everything’s working so well. God’s been so good to me, super. It felt like winning from a lottery. But I know that it’ll only be the start of what seems to be the longest journey of my life.
Here’s the link:
For UPCM Class 2016, see you all batchmates!
Ash Wednesday
I am not certain if I use to attend Ash Wednesday mass during my elementary years but I am pretty sure I do since high school. Observing Catholic norms and activities became more apparent to me especially during our Christian Living classes in high school. Since I finished high school in a Catholic institution, the said mass is held in our school. During college in a secular university, I attend the mass at St. Therese Chapel in the afternoon. As for this year’s, my mom and I, went to the mass early in the morning at Virgen de las Flores Quasi Church in our place. Of course, the homily dealt with the importance of the event. As we all know, it marks the start of the Lent Season. Much more of penance and fasting, it indicates a period of reflection and spiritual conversion to prepare us all for the coming of Jesus Christ on Easter.
The Ash
A week before, the parochial or quasi priest may ask the community church-goers to bring their year-old blessed palms (palaspas) from the previous Palm Sunday. These are burned into ashes and then sanctified with Holy Water and incense. The ashes are used in marking a cross in our foreheads to remind us the sense of humility and sacrifice Jesus has shown us during his time. Out of devotion, the contemporary people receive ashes as reminded by the homily’s message: “Man came from dust and to dust shall he return”. The mortal life passes away and eternity shall be achieved in peace and sacrifice we are living for.

UERM Results 2011-2012
UERM aspirants, the results of the qualified applicants for academic year 2011-2012 are now posted in the bulletin. Well, I haven’t seen it personally because I was actually waiting for any updates in PinoyMD forums until finally someone posted captured images at her multiply account http://ilovetoni00.multiply.com/photos/album/401/UERM_College_of_Medicine_2011_Admission_List. Great thanks to you dear! Thank you so much for posting. The result somehow minimized certain apprehensions. Whew…
I called UERM at 713-3315 to confirm if I indeed got a slot in their college and thanks God I made it through (And it’s another Whew… I guess, c;). Am hoping that the same thing will happen to my application in UP (Oh please…)

Documentaries and News Casting/Reporting
I started watching I-Witness Documentaries in Powerhouse QTV 11 last January. I felt like so acquainted to the said program alongside other current affairs shows such as Reporter’s Notebook and Jessica Soho Reports. It happened that I wasn’t able to follow the usual programs during my college years since we didn’t have a tv set in the apartment. I am just glad to know that the broadcasting company still air some replays of their documentaries. Whenever I am watching such real life-issues and stories presented by indeed very good reporters, I always end up wondering about the protocol a particular documentary program follows in selecting the right reporter to conduct the research and deal with a certain issue [too inquisitive ‘bout this matter eh?].
On News Casting and Reporting...
It’s not because I am messed up by the usual news personalities we see all day and night in news programs [they have established themselves in the course of time, anyway] but I’m again thinking that in their presence, the reporters or at least the far-more-experienced-than-reporters staffs couldn’t excel as anchors or news casters [or into a position such as those highly regarded in the studios]. We all know that both concerns have different matters to consider. Again, this is by all means a question by a person who’s only wondering bout what and how it goes in public affairs and journalism [and so whoever reads this and has any comments, feel free to give some].
Well, known to the concerned viewers, the roles of an anchor and a reporter are almost interchangeable [at least an anchor can grab that of a reporter’s but the latter can’t easily have an anchor’s position]. While the reporter gathers the news [of all encompassing aspects] in the field, the anchor stays in the studio to convey collected info through TV or radio networks. The former does everything at least from gathering and assembling info, voice casting and script writing while the anchor may or may not write the news as he/she will deliver it later.
Unknown to us [but of course may seem too obvious], an anchor’s rank is esteemed and highly paid [accdg to a friend of mine who’s working in a local network].
The return of Brigada
I highly commend Brigada for again venturing into this kind of conveying news to the public. There are really lots of public matters we tend to ignore just so because we, in general aren’t actually informed about the real scenarios in the society. For me, it is a good thing to have such program that will discuss local problems in the country whether in the rural or urban as I may say. For a public affairs’ pillar [GMA News] Jessica Soho, who’s been in the said field for years [way back Beltran and Sotto’s Brigada Siete], it seems to be her time to give back what she has received in the course of her stay in the department by mentoring the new generation of journalists/reporters. Though I was not really concerned with the news ‘til 4th grade, I knew there were running news programs like Hoy! Gising, Frontpage, Brigada Siete, Magandang Gabi Bayan, etc. Through time, the people have in general changed preferences on how news are delivered. The contemporary time needs [well as I deem so] a progressive strategy to capture interests amongst people. A touch of opinion in an unconventional news program like that of Brigada with small bits of documentaries shows how news programs respond to what the present time calls for. Also, let me speak well of it again as the program gives the reporters behind the limelight [reporters who appear infrequently] a chance to give some commentaries on their reports as Jessica shares her own insights as well. Whoa. I so love it. [If I am not into the field of science, I’d probably in journalism. kapal...]

Our lives are just like a typical(potpourri). We are actually a miscellany of different experiences and perspectives in life crafted in the course of our lifetime. Crafts like herbs and dried flowers in jars of various scents and characters. Humanity is so vague to explain in a category. If one could atleast share the stuffs he/she does then we'll realize the essence of our distinctness amidst commonalities by nature. What makes us unique are the diversity of the activities we opt to do. Let me see then what I can share here...
